Leather
Leather is a durable and flexible material created by tanning animal hides, typically from cows, goats, sheep, and exotic animals like crocodiles and snakes. The tanning process preserves the hide, preventing decomposition and enhancing its strength, texture, and appearance. Types of Leather:
1) Full-Grain Leather
This is the highest quality leather, made from the top layer of the hide with all the natural grain intact. It’s known for its strength, durability, and ability to develop a beautiful patina over time.
Uses: High-end bags, wallets, belts, furniture, and footwear.
2) Top-Grain Leather
Slightly lower quality than full-grain, this leather has the top layer sanded to remove imperfections, giving it a smooth, uniform look. It’s more flexible and stain-resistant but doesn’t develop as rich a patina.

3) Genuine Leather (Corrected Grain Leather)
It is made from the layers of the hide that remain after the top grain has been removed. It’s often treated and embossed to mimic the look of higher-quality leather but is less durable.

4) Bonded Leather
It is made from leftover leather scraps that are shredded, mixed with polyurethane or latex, and bonded onto a fiber sheet. It contains only a small percentage of real leather.
Uses: Low-cost furniture and accessories.
5) Suede
It is made from the underside of the hide, suede has a soft, napped finish. It’s less durable than full-grain or top-grain leather but offers a unique texture and feel.
Uses: Shoes, jackets, and bags.
6) Nubuck
It is similar to suede but made from the outer side of the hide, nubuck is sanded to create a soft, velvety surface. It’s more durable than suede but still prone to staining.
Uses: Footwear, jackets, and accessories.
7) Patent Leather
Leather coated with a high-gloss, shiny finish, giving it a sleek, polished look. It’s less breathable but adds a distinct style to products.
Uses: Shoes, bags, and fashion accessories.
8) Exotic Leathers
It is made from animals like snakes, crocodiles, ostriches, and stingrays, exotic leathers have unique patterns and textures. They are rare and usually more expensive.
